StataNow Update December 2024

StataNow expands its functionalities with the December 18 update, adding further new features.

Multiple-event interval-censored Cox model
With the new command stmgintcox, marginal proportional hazards models for interval-censored data with multiple events can be estimated. The command supports data with both single and multiple records per event and allows the use of time-dependent covariates for all events or for specific events.

Control-function linear and probit models
With the new commands cfregress and cfprobit, control-function models for linear regressions and probit models can be estimated. Control-function models offer a more flexible approach than traditional instrumental variable (IV) methods by including the endogenous variable itself, as well as the first-stage residual, in the main regression. The residual term is referred to as the control function.

Do-file Editor: Current word and selection highlighting
Stata’s Do-file Editor now highlights all case-insensitive occurrences of the current word under the cursor. Additionally, all occurrences of the current selection are separately marked, respecting case sensitivity. Both functions allow users to quickly find keywords or selected text passages in a document without having to use the search dialog.

Further details can be found in the attached Feature Highlights. These describe the new functions in detail and provide tips on how to present these innovations to your customers.
