1) Financial Statistics Suite
With the new Financial Statistics Suite, StataNow expands its capabilities for analyzing financial data. The new commands fin, finreturns, finportfolio, finsummarize, finvalrisk and finregress support core tasks in financial econometrics—from calculating returns and portfolio optimization to estimating asset pricing and time-series models. The offering is complemented by the new Financial Statistics Reference Manual. The update is specifically aimed at financial statisticians and macroeconomists.

2) Convert PDF files to text
With the new pdf2txt command, PDF documents can be converted directly into plain text files. This allows content to be easily extracted for text mining, automated analysis, or further processing with Large Language Models (LLMs). The feature facilitates the use of information from PDF sources and supports efficient data-driven workflows in all research areas.
