We are pleased to introduce the new features of StataNow 19.5.
1) Import data from Parquet files
The new import parquet command reads Apache Parquet files and converts them into a Stata dataset. Most Parquet data types and compression methods are supported. You can also import only specific columns or rows. This feature is particularly useful for data engineers, data scientists, and analysts working with big data or in cloud environments.

2) Causal mediation analysis with two mediators
The mediate command now allows for causal mediation analyses with two mediators. Natural indirect effects, natural direct effects, controlled direct effects, and mediator-specific effects can be estimated. Parallel and sequential mediations are supported, and covariates can be included in outcome and mediator models. This update is aimed at researchers in epidemiology, public health, psychology, political science, economics, and sociology.
