StataNow 19.5: New Feature Highlights
We are excited to introduce the latest features in StataNow 19.5.
1) Difference-in-Differences with Switching Treatments
The new xtswitchdid command allows you to perform difference-in-differences analyses for panel data with multivalued treatments and groups that switch between different treatment states. The method allows you to examine how an outcome changes over time following a treatment switch. You can also analyze treatment-specific paths and graph event-study effects.

2) Spatial Error Covariance Structures for Multilevel Models
The mixed command now supports four spatial error covariance structures: exponential, Gaussian, spherical, and power. These structures allow you to model correlations between errors as a function of the spatial distance between observations. They are useful for analyzing spatial data as well as intensive longitudinal data with irregular time intervals.

3) Multiple Frames in the Data Editor
You can now view and edit multiple datasets simultaneously in the Data Editor. Easily switch between different frames, copy data from one frame and paste it into another, and more. The File, Data, and Tools menus work within the context of the currently selected frame.

Additional enhancements
In addition to these three new features, the update includes several other improvements to StataNow 19.5. These include improvements to executing selected lines in the Do-file Editor, faster feasible generalized least-squares estimation with xtgls, the new Mata quantile() function, enhancements to HDFE interactions, and updates to hdidregress, xthdidregress, bayesmh, and putpdf. The Do-file Editor also now includes bracket pair colorization.
