StataNow 19.5: New Feature Highlights
We are pleased to introduce the latest features available in StataNow 19.5.
1) Financial Statistics Suite (Update of June 3, 2026)
With the new Financial Statistics Suite, StataNow expands its capabilities for financial data analysis. The new commands fin, finreturns, finportfolio, finsummarize, finvalrisk and finregress support key tasks in financial econometrics—from calculating returns and optimizing portfolios to estimating asset-pricing and time-series models. The suite is complemented by the new Financial Statistics Reference Manual. This update is particularly relevant for financial statisticians and macroeconomists.

2) Convert PDF Files to Plain Text (Update of June 3, 2026)
The new pdf2txt command enables users to convert PDF documents directly into plain text files. This makes it easy to extract content for text mining, automated analyses, and processing with large language models (LLMs). The feature simplifies the use of information stored in PDF documents and supports efficient, data-driven workflows across all research disciplines.
